RightSight 2: Google Meet on Android

Overview

Logitech RightSight 2 provides three camera modes to improve framing and visibility during meetings. With CollabOS 1.15 and onwards, IT administrators can select one of these RightSight 2 modes on their CollabOS device on Google Meet on Android and/or Google Meet on ChromeOS. RightSight 2, along with the Google Manufacturer framing, helps organizations optimize meeting experiences by selecting the camera mode for each scenario.

Enable Google Meet on Android Camera Settings to use RightSight 2

1. Activate the RightSight 2 Camera Mode

• Follow these step-by-step instructions to enable and select your preferred camera mode.

• Options include:

  • Group View: Frames all meeting participants in the room.

  • Speaker View: Focuses on the active speaker.

  • Grid View: Equitably arranges participants in a grid layout for improved visibility.

2. Configure the Manufacturer's Framing in Google Admin Console

• Log in to your Google Admin Console as an IT admin.

• Navigate to Device Settings > Google Meet hardware.

• Under Camera Settings, choose the option for Default Camera Framing as the ‘Manufacturer framing’.

Note: Once enabled, the Control Camera option on the Google Meet controller defaults to Framing by Logitech, ensuring advanced RightSight 2 features are applied automatically.

For Google Meet on ChromeOS deployments, complete these additional steps to enable RightSight2 camera modes:

• Set up the Rally Bar or Rally Bar Mini in BYOD Mode as a service provider

• Connect a network cable to the Rally Bar or Rally Bar Mini

• Provision the device via Logitech Sync

• Reconnect the Rally Bar or Rally Bar Mini to the Chromebox

• Activate RightSight 2 camera modes and configure Manufacturer's Framing (as described above)

FAQ

1. What happens if Default Camera Framing is set to 'No Preference' or 'No Automatic Framing' in Google Admin Console?

   1. When this setting is applied, the Control Camera option on the Google Meet controller defaults to No automatic framing (manual mode). RightSight 2 camera modes will not function as intended until Manufacturer Framing is selected in the Google Admin Console.

2. Does this require an additional license or cost?

   1. No. RightSight 2 is included with CollabOS at no additional cost.
