Extend FAQs
Below you will find a collection of frequently asked questions and answers for Logitech Extend.
If I am using Android Mode on my CollabOS device, and Extend is part of my configuration, will I still be able to use Tap HDMI ingest when Extend is not active?
HDMI Ingest through Tap is supported when Extend is part of the configuration but not actively used by a BYOD computer. Once a BYOD computer utilizes Extend, the device enters BYOD mode and Tap HDMI ingest will be unavailable until the user disconnects Extend from their laptop.
Can Extend be used to share content when not in a video meeting?
The main function of Extend is to allow a laptop to connect to and share its screen on a room display. When a laptop is connected, its screen will be displayed on the front of the room display.
Is Extend compatible with Rally Bar + Sight configurations?
Yes, Extend supports BYOD configurations with Rally Bar + Sight. It functions similarly to USB Mode, with the addition of front-of-room display passthrough.
Does Extend support third-party microphones and/or cameras?
Extend supports third-party audio and camera devices connected to a supported host camera. This means any audio device should work when plugged into a supported Extend host camera. Multiple cameras, including third-party ones, are supported for multi-camera setups when connected to a supported Extend host camera, given the host camera has this capability.
You can find a full list of supported host camera devices with Extend here.
Note: Using a third-party camera as the host camera (directly connected to the Extend RX box) is not supported.
Does Extend support dual extended displays (not mirrored) when connected to a Logitech Rally Bar, or will it only utilize one of the displays?
Extend supports single display output.
How does the user laptop receive power from the USB-C cable?
Extend provides power to the host laptop using power delivery. You can learn more about this here.
