Roommate - Full UVC Control for ANY Logitech USB Camera (ZR)

Right now, the Roommate is considered a modular appliance, but its shortlist of compatible cameras with any PTZ control is limited to the MeetUp (1st-gen, outdated, non-competitive image quality) and Rally (outdated, non-competitive image quality & intelligence).

Modular appliances are most commonly used in large spaces - neither of the approved cameras is suitable for a large space in 2025.
Modular appliances are meant to be modular - even if Logitech wants to restrict the Roommate to specific PID/VIDs, why can we not have basic PTZ control via UVC standards if we wish to control another Logitech webcam (Brio, MeetUp 2, C920). Ideally, we'd avoid whitelists altogether and allow control of 3rd-party cameras compatible with UVC standards for PTZ (the way a Windows or Mac Zoom Room is able to, still without additional drivers).

Let's say we want to use a broadcast-grade camera - why not allow us to use the HDMI ingest port and select it as a primary camera feed in ZR like we can do with Android appliances from competitors?

We are ready to order double-digits of these devices, but they're effectively bricks until camera support is expanded. This could be a great modular product, but Logitech seems content with selling it as a component that's part of a Rally Plus (not high enough quality for the type of space you'd want to deploy it in) system. Let's get modular and sell some units, please!
