Logi Dock and Monitor Support

Resolution and FPS we support for monitors (in one and two monitor situations)

The default mode is “Hi-Speed USB 3.0 mode”

Here is the max resolution with the below configuration. To reach the maximum resolution with dual display, please switch “Hi-Speed USB 3.0 mode” to Off in Logi Tune.

Note: resolution may vary depending on your laptop/monitor configuration. The above assumes the laptop/monitor supports HBR3, USB ALT-Mode and can support up to the max resolution listed above. For more information please go to your laptop or display manufacturer website.

Dual monitor Mac support for extending your screen

  • For Mac with Intel Core Processor: dual monitor can only be supported with the following set-up

    • Monitor 1 connected to Logi Dock through HDMI or DisplayPort

    • Monitor 2 connected to Mac HDMI port (if available) or USB-C to HDMI adapter* or connected to Logi Dock through USB DisplayLink adapter

  • For Macbook with M1 Gen 1 Processor: dual monitor can be supported with the following set-up:

    • Monitor 1 connected to Logi Dock through HDMI or DisplayPort

    • Monitor 2 connected to Logi Dock through USB to Displaylink adapter**

  • For Mac Mini M1 / M1 Pro / M2 / M2 Pro :

    • Monitor 1 connected to Logi Dock through HDMI or DisplayPort

    • Monitor 2 connected to Mac Mini HDMI port

  • For M1 Pro/Max/Ultra / M2 / M2 Pro / M2 Max

    • Monitor 1 connected to Logi Dock through HDMI or DisplayPort

    • Monitor 2 connected to Mac HDMI port OR Mac USB-C with HDMI adapter* or connected to Logi Dock through USB DisplayLink adapter

 

Note: for M1 and M2 Mac and Monitors a DisplayLink adapter is needed as well as the DisplayLink Manager software which can be downloaded free here. It is recommended to allow DisplayLink Manager to enable "launch automatically after log".

If you connect two Mac monitors to DisplayPort and HDMI on Logi Dock, they will not be able to extend your monitors.

*We do not certify any specific third-party USB-C to HDMI Cables. However, we have tested various cables for that use case and experienced no issues. An example of one of the cables we tested is here.

Can the displayport be daisy chained?

DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport (MST)

If HDMI is connected + 2 DisplayPort monitors in Multi-Stream:

  • 1st HDMI: 4K@60

  • Display Port 1: 4K@30 or 2560x1080@60

  • Display Port 2: 4K@30 or 2560x1080@60

There is a prerequisite that your monitors and computer support DP 1.2 or above, and use DisplayPort Cables​. If you unsure, please visit your computer or monitor manufacturer website.

This resolution compatibility has been tested with a limited number of monitors and computers, hence we cannot guarantee that every monitor and computer combination will work with the expected resolution above. For any additional questions, please contact your Logitech representative.

Monitor is set at 4K but does not look 4K during a video call

Check that your HDR setting is off, outside of active video streaming.

macOS with HDR mode selected, screen looks pixelated when NOT watching a movie.

When you do not watch an HDR movie, please untick HDR mode, as it may provide lower resolution.

Connecting an external monitor to a USB type C port

Only monitors connected through HDMI or DisplayPort are supported.

Connecting HDMI monitor to Logi Dock's DisplayPort or DisplayPort monitor to Logi Dock's HDMI port

We do not certify any specific third-party directional DisplayPort to HDMI Cables. However, we have tested various cables for that use case and experienced no issues. An example of one of the cables we tested is here.

Logi Dock not detected with Mac OS Ventura 13.0

Mac OS Ventura (13.0) may have a dialog pop up “Allow accessory to connect” when Logi Dock is connected via Upstream port. If you “allow” it, then it will be detected as expected. However if you hit "Don't Allow" the following is observed: 

  • Monitors continue to work.

  • Logi Tune does not detect Logi Dock or any connected peripherals.

  • None of the USB peripherals connected to Logi Dock work.

In order to resolve this issue, please go into Settings -> Privacy and Security and change the selection again from the list to get system dialog “allow accessory to connect” to come up.
