Mounting Scribe - FAQs

Scribe has to be mounted on a wall to function.

Can I mount Logitech Scribe to a glass wall?

Mounting Logitech Scribe to glass is not recommended. If attempting to mount Logitech Scribe to frosted glass, a primer will need to be applied before mounting - otherwise the mount will fail.

The only available primer for this mount can be found here: 3Mā„¢ VHBā„¢ Tape Universal Primer UV.

As with wall mounting, the Scribe will still need to be mounted at the right height above the whiteboard surface. Use the included mounting template to position Scribe. The distance between the bottom edge of the camera base and the top edge of the whiteboard should be about 5 inch / 12.4 cm.

What is the best lighting environment to set up Scribe?

We recommend that the Scribe is installed away from windows. Make sure to:

  • Avoid harsh lighting directly on the whiteboardĀ

  • Avoid low lighting environments

Is the Scribe Secure Latch accessory compatible with all Scribes?

No, the Scribe Secure Latch is only compatible with Scribes made after a certain date. There are two ways to tell if the Secure Latch is compatible with your Scribe.

  • Look at the top of the mounting bracket that comes in the box of the Scribe.Ā  If there’s two brass inserts at the very top of the bracket, then it’s compatible. (See image below)

  • Check the serial number of the product. If the Serial number on the box starts with a 22 (located on the white label on the box), then it will be compatible with the Secure Latch.

If your Scribe is not compatible with the secure latch, you can purchase a new mounting kit on our Spare Parts page here.
