Sight Installation (General)
General
The cameras on Logitech Sight will frame participants up to approximately three meters from the cameras. Sight works best on tables up to 4.3m/14’ in length.
However, with longer tables, Sight can effectively be used if placed nearer the head of the table. This gives a better view of those farthest from the front of room camera. However, in this case, those nearer the front of room camera will likely not be framed by Sight.
The microphone pickup range of Sight has a radius of approximately 2.3m (7.5’). If needed, additional Rally Mic Pods can be connected.
While Logitech Sight uses category cable, it is not an ethernet device. The connection between Logitech Sight and the camera cannot pass through a network switch, but must be directly connected to the front-of-room camera.
Maximum category cable lengths:
For Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini, the CAT cable between the host dongle and Sight can be a maximum of 40 meters (131.2 feet) using CAT6A SFTP/SSTP cable.
For Rally and Rally Plus, the CAT cable between the host dongle and Sight can be a maximum of 20 meters (65 feet) using CAT6A SFTP/SSTP cable.
Unsupported Configurations
To differentiate between participants in the conference room vs. those who are remote, Sight needs to connect to an AV system that can provide the audio path information. Currently, that list includes Rally Bar, Rally Bar Mini, Rally and Rally Plus. At this point, the following devices are not supported with Sight:
Sight stand alone
Sight connected directly to a computer (without audio from one of the above listed products)
Sight with Rally Bar Huddle
Sight with Rally (investigating as a future feature)
Sight with Rally Plus (investigating as a future feature)
Sight with MeetUp
Sight with BCC950
Sight with Group
Sight with Webcams
Third party audio (investigating as a future feature)
It is not possible to disable Sight’s microphones individually.
Table Size
Sight has a 315° horizontal field of view (FOV) with 45° blocked off so the front-of-room display isn’t captured (as shown in the illustration below).
A single Sight is ideal for tables up to approximately 4.3m/14ft long and is generally placed in the center of the table:
In the future, the ability to daisy chain Sight will be available to support longer tables. Until then, we recommend placing a single Sight towards the head of the table; this allows a better view of those farthest from the front of room camera. Adding a Mic Pod on the table near the display ensures good voice pickup:
There is some variability in maximum table length depending on the width of the table; very narrow tables can decrease the maximum length supported, affecting the two chairs nearest the screen. For a table with standard sized width, those seated in the chairs nearest the screen will be properly framed as long as they are mostly within the FOV.
