SmartDock and SmartDock Flex - End of Logitech Software Updates

At Logitech we’re always looking to innovate and improve. As our valued customer, we would like to encourage you to transition to our latest solutions for Microsoft Teams Rooms.

End of software updates from Logitech for SmartDock and SmartDock Flex will be June 1, 2022.

What is SmartDock?

SmartDock was originally designed for use with Skype Room Systems v2, and since then Microsoft Teams Rooms. It allows for certain Microsoft Surface tablets to connect and be used as a touch controller for a Teams Room, as well as provide the computational needs for the accompanying software and AV equipment. 

What does this mean for customers that are using SmartDock?

• Starting June 1, 2022, Logitech will no longer provide software updates for SmartDock or SmartDock Flex.
  

• SmartDock will continue to receive Microsoft Teams Rooms application and Windows updates. However, any new features requiring more powerful hardware will not be available and SmartDock users may experience inconsistent behavior when using the device.

How will devices under warranty be handled?

Hardware warranties will be honored for devices that are still under warranty. 

Is it possible to upgrade hardware to newer offerings?
