How to use Swytch with USB Extensions

Logitech Swytch and USB Extensions

Logitech Swytch leverages USB 3.0 from end to end to enable up to 4K30 Camera and 4K60 Display support. The system is fully compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 AV devices, including Logitech ConferenceCams such as Logitech MeetUp, Rally, Rally Bar and others.

Extending the distance between Swytch Hub (A) and Swytch Extender (B) is supported using Logitech 10m Strong USB Cable or Logitech 25m Strong USB Cable. Use of other extensions, third-party or otherwise are not supported.

Use of extensions between other connections within the Logitech Swytch system are not supported. Specifically, the connection between Swytch Extender and the user laptop, cannot be extended. Use of extension may result in signal attenuation, insufficient power or excessive number of USB layers.

Important Note on USB Cable Length with Rally Systems and Swytch

When a Rally System is functioning as the A/V device, and you connect the Swytch Hub to the Rally System at the Display Hub, using a 25m Strong USB cable will exceed the USB layer limit. This prevents the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) PC, connected via the Swytch Y cable, from connecting to the Rally Camera due to a USB layer conflict.

This issue doesn't occur when using a 10m Strong USB cable in the same setup, as the 25m Strong USB cable introduces an additional USB layer.

To resolve this, simply connect the Swytch Hub to the Rally System at the Table Hub instead. This connection method removes one USB layer, allowing the BYOD PC connected to the Swytch cable to successfully connect to the Rally Camera.
