Overview
What is Sync Insights?
Sync Insights is a new feature for Logitech Sync. It offers visibility into how meeting rooms are utilized. Using the latest AI technology and a privacy-centric approach, Logitech products can count meeting room participants and report that data anonymously to Sync.
With this information, IT and facility managers can better assess which rooms are underutilized and where room usage is at or above capacity. The analysis enables you to right-size rooms and allocate space more efficiently.
Getting Started
How can I get started with Sync Insights?
To access Sync Insights, you must have an active Select or Essential license or have started a free trial (available in Sync). Read more about our Service options here.
How to do I access the Insights feature in Sync Portal?
Depending on which data youâre trying to view on Sync Portal, youâll need to follow one of the paths below:
For Room Activity Logs:
To access Room logs information log into Sync Portal.
Go to Meeting Rooms.
Find the pertinent room and click on it.
Click Room.
For Insights Data:
Insights data can be both viewed and downloaded from the âInsightsâ section of each room as long as these rooms are linked to a Logitech Select or Logitech Essential license.

Click  Insights.
Device Hardware Logs:
It is not possible to retrieve device hardware logs directly from the Sync Portal. When triggered, these logs are automatically sent to Logitech for analysis. Users do not have access to view or download these hardware logs. However, you can access information about managed devices under each room from the Dashboard section located on the left side panel.

Data and Privacy
What data is uploaded to provide Sync Insights?
Room occupancy insights are generated with anonymous meeting participant data. This data, in the form of integers, never contains personally identifiable information, demographic information, or media (transcriptions, audio, or video).
When does Sync Insights capture data?
Out of meeting occupancy was made available for Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini in appliance mode with CollabOS 1.9.544 and in USB mode with Sync App 3.1.308. For all other devices and scenarios, Sync captures occupancy data only when the camera is in use during video meetings.
How does Sync Insights detect meeting participants?
Sync uses AI-based object detection to identify the number of meeting participants. No facial recognition or personally identifiable data is used to count the number of participants.

Which products support Sync Insights?
Sync Insights is available with Rally Bar, Rally Bar Mini, Rally Camera*, Rally System*, and MeetUp* using the latest firmware.
*For Insights data to be collected and reported, the Rally Camera, Rally System and MeetUp require RightSight to be enabled with Dynamic mode.
How long until I see Sync Insights after itâs enabled?
After Sync Insights has been enabled for your organization, you will be able to see your report after 24 hours. We calculate your meeting room averages once a day at 12:00 AM local time for each room.
Usage and Metrics
What are the metrics used for Sync Insights based on?
Sync Insights provides you with a simple view of how your rooms are being used. In order to provide guidance regarding room usage, we have drawn from space utilization reports by CBRE.Â
The CBRE report suggests that optimal room usage is between 40% and 60% of the workday. We show our guidelines between 35%-65% to provide a bit more padding. This optimal region means the room is being used a fair amount but is still available to be booked or used ad hoc. The Sync Insights report offers guidelines between 35% and-65% to provide more flexibility. In the future, the product will allow you to customize guidelines for room usage and seat usage to fit your needs.
What are Sync occupancy limits?
Sync occupancy limits allow you to set a threshold for your meeting room occupancy. If this limit is exceeded you will be able to see which sessions were at fault from the Sync Insights room view.
