4.1 System Settings - User Management
The following sections will help you navigate through the process of adding new users within your organization. We recommend inviting users who need to help you manage and support your products as soon as possible, so they can collaborate with you in the same organization.
Invite people to join your Organization
We recommend inviting team members (see the Add a User section of this article) who will need to open support tickets and manage devices or licenses, if applicable. This ensures all tickets are tied to your organization, and avoids employees creating their own Sync organization to open support tickets.
For further information on how to add and manage users, rooms and devices, please refer to the pertinent documentation in the Sync Admin Guide.
Accept people’s Request to join your Organization
If an employee tries to set up a new Sync organization with the same name, using the same email domain as the one you’ve registered, they’ll be prompted to request access. When this happens Sync owners and administrators will be notified. Access requests are limited to users within the domain(s) registered to your organization in Sync Portal.
We highly encourage you to proactively invite people to join your organization in Sync Portal and to not rely on this method as an alternative route for people to join your team.
To manage access requests from Sync Portal, you can navigate to the View Requests option to approve or deny each request as needed and assign the appropriate role to those users you accept into your organization. Once approved, users will receive a follow-up email with further instructions.
Please remember that tickets created by users within Sync ticketing will be visible to your organization as long as they’ve joined your Sync organization prior to creating these tickets. If they’ve created tickets in a different Sync organization, these tickets won’t be merged with your Sync organization later on. To optimize ticket management, ensure that you’re inviting everyone who needs to be part of your Sync organization before they need to request access.
For further guidance on how to link your domain with your Sync organization, please see Sync Self Service SSO.
