Adding a holiday calendar

When Auto Release and Release meeting series are enabled in Logitech Sync, recurring meetings are automatically removed from rooms after several consecutive no-shows freeing up unused space.

However, during company holidays, recurring meetings (such as daily stand-ups) are still scheduled. These no-shows during company holidays could incorrectly count toward removing a recurring meeting series and remove a meeting series that is still attended outside of holidays.

The option in Sync to “Skip holidays” allows admins to link a holiday calendar, so missed meetings during those dates do not count toward the Auto Release missed meeting threshold.

How It Works

  • Without a holiday calendar linked:

    • Auto Release and Release meeting series work as usual. All missed recurring meetings count toward the threshold.

  • With a holiday calendar linked:

    • If a meeting is missed during a holiday, Auto Release still frees the room at that time, but the missed occurrence does not count toward removing the recurring meeting series.

    • Once holidays end, Sync resumes normal tracking of missed meetings.

This ensures recurring meetings are only removed when consistently unattended during normal business days—not during company holidays.

Requirements

  • Logitech Sync with Release meeting series enabled.

  • A connected calendar service account with access (subscribed) to your holiday calendars via either:

  •  Admin-level permissions in Sync.

Step 1: Enable “Release meeting series”

  1. Sign in to Logitech Sync.

  2. Navigate to Meeting Rooms> Settings > Room Booking settings.

  3. Select the group you want to enable this setting for from the left side.

  4. Enable “Auto Release”.

  5. Enable “Release meeting series”

  6. Enable “Skip holidays”.

Step 2: Assign Holiday Calendars

Holiday calendars can be assigned to any group in Sync, and the same holiday calendar can be assigned to multiple groups.

  • Select the group you want to add a holiday calendar to.

  • Under “Skip holidays,” click the “Select calendar” drop-down.

  • Select a holiday calendar from the list.

Note: if you do not see a list of holiday calendars, please ensure you have given your connected service account access to the holiday calendars you wish to import.
