Getting started with Logitech View
This guide will walk you through the process of setting up Logitech View to display interactive maps throughout your office.
Prerequisites
You must be logged in as an administrator in Sync with Admin privileges. For more information, see the Sync Admin Guide.
Before proceeding, ensure you have completed the following steps:
Additionally, you'll need a RoomMate for each Logitech View device in your office.
Setting up Logitech View
Provisioning your device
First, provision your RoomMate to your Sync account. This associates the device with your account and a specific room.
There are two ways to provision your devices:
Room provisioning codes: These codes are specific to individual rooms in your Sync account. Use them to quickly configure a device and attach it to a room.
Group provisioning codes: These provide a streamlined way to provision multiple devices without needing individual codes for each room or desk.
Enabling an open space
In the Sync portal, enable rooms with provisioned RoomMates used for Logitech View as open space devices. This allows your RoomMate to display maps containing rooms from multiple groups within Sync.
Note: If you chose Logitech View as the service provider when provisioning a room in Sync, this should be enabled by default.
To enable this manually:
In your Sync account, go to Meeting Rooms > Inventory.
Select the room where your RoomMate running Logitech View is or will be located.
In the top menu, select "Details".
Click on the "Open space" option and set it to "Yes".
Plot your Logitech View
Next, plot your Logitech View on the map and set its orientation. This specifies which building and floor it's on, and allows you to set the orientation so that when users approach the map, it's aligned with their perspective in the office.
Go to System > Maps in your Sync account.
Select the floor map where you want to plot your Logitech View.
From the right side menu, select "View".
Click on the map to plot your Logitech View.
Once plotted, select the open space you want to assign to this location on the map.
Note: If you don't see your room in the left-hand menu to assign to this Logitech View, ensure the room has "Open space" enabled. After assigning your Logitech View to an "Open space" room, set the orientation using the slider in the left side menu.
As you adjust the slider, you'll see the indicator on the map move to show how a user would face the device. With Logitech View plotted and oriented, save the updates to the map.
Logitech View is now set up and plotted on your map. You will now see an interactive map of your office on the display connected to RoomMate running Logitech View.
Accessing admin settings
Once Logitech View is set up you may want to access the CollabOS settings of RoomMate. To do so simply tap on the logo in the top left corner of the screen five times. If you have set up a pin code for this device, you will be prompted to enter it before gaining access to CollabOS settings.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use Logitech View if I use scheduling panels from another provider?
Yes, Logitech View will get the room status and be able to book from the calendar each room in Sync is connected to. As long as the other provider uses the same calendar for each room the status between Logitech View and another provider will be synchronized.
