Connecting to MeetUp 2

  1. After opening the app, tap on ā€œInstall deviceā€ from the home screen.

  1. On the next screen, you will see the list of MeetUp 2 devices the app is able to discover.

If you do not see any discoverable devices, you will want to make sure they are in pairing mode. To do this, press and hold the Bluetooth button on the back of the device for 5 seconds.

  1. Once you have discovered your device and selected it, you will have the option to connect the device to WiFi or apply a configuration profile.

    1. Configure a WiFi network: This option allows you to select from a list of WiFi networks that your MeetUp 2 can see and enter the network credentials.

    2. Apply configuration profile: This option allows you to apply a pre-saved set of network credentials making it faster to connect. Note: this step requires you to have at least one profile created. Please see the profiles section below for details.Ā

  1. After selecting to configure a WiFi network on the device you will be presented with a list of WiFi networks that MeetUp 2 is able to discover. Select the network that you wish to have MeetUp 2 connect to and enter the network credentials.

Today we support WPA methods of authentication. In a future update, we will add support for 802.1x with the ability to upload a certificate.

  2. Once the device has been connected to the network you will be asked to enable Local Network Access. Local Network Access is what will enable you to complete the setup of your device remotely and must be enabled to complete the setup process.

For more information on Local Network Access click here.

  3. With your MeetUp 2 now connected to WiFi and with Local Network access enabled you are given the option to save a profile. Saving a profile will save your network settings (network selection and credentials) and Local Network Access enablement. You can then use this profile when connecting another device to the network and not have to manually enter the required information, saving you time.

  4. After saving your profile you will see the confirmation screen showing you the device details and Local Network Access username and password. These details can be quickly shared using the share option in the top right, or by simply copying and pasting them from the screen.

Your MeetUp 2 is now successfully connected to a WiFi network and ready for you to continue setting up remotely.Ā

Configuration profiles

Saving a configuration profile will allow you to simply apply it to other devices. This means that once you have connected a single device to the correct WiFi network and enabled Local Network Access, you can then apply these settings using the profile for other devices. This will automatically apply your network settings and enable Local Network access.Ā

To edit existing configuration profiles, from the home screen select ā€œManage profilesā€. You will then see a list of your saved profiles and have the option to edit their names or remove them.Ā

To save a new profile, connect one device to your WiFi network and select the ā€œsave profileā€ option available once a device is connected to the network with Local Network Access enabled.
