Tap and Tap IP Comparison

Below is an article comparing the major differences between Tap and Tap IP:

Tap

• Power: Power supply inline via Cat5e

• Connection: Cat5e to USB

• HDMI-Ingest: Yes*

Tap IP

• Power: PoE (power over ethernet)

• Connection: Ethernet or Wi-Fi

• HDMI-Ingest: No*

*Hdmi Ingest is currently supported for PC-Based Solutions, support for Appliance Based Solutions will be supported at a later date. However on-device Hdmi Ingest is fully supported for Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Image below is Tap IP connected to the network via WiFi. Tap IP is currently only certified for Microsoft Teams on Android. Zoom supports Tap IP for both Appliance and PC based Solutions.
