Allow admins to enforce firmware updates for personal devices through Sync

Please add the ability for IT administrators to centrally push and enforce firmware updates for Logitech personal workspace devices, including webcams and headsets, without requiring end users to manually initiate or approve installation.

This request follows support ticket 17930565, where I asked about forcing firmware updates to users’ devices.

Currently, publishing an update through Sync can still depend on the user responding to a Logi Tune notification. Repeated reminders and eventually locking the Tune application do not ensure that the device firmware is updated. This makes it difficult for IT to maintain consistent firmware versions across deployed devices.

I understand that silent firmware updates are available for select devices. I would like this capability extended across more personal workspace devices, including Zone Wireless 2 headsets and business webcams, with the following controls:

  • Administrator-initiated installation: Push approved firmware to individual devices or device groups without requiring user approval.

  • Enforcement deadlines: Allow limited user deferrals, then automatically install when the device meets update requirements.

  • Scheduling and readiness checks: Support maintenance windows and avoid interrupting active calls or camera use. Verify sufficient power and a stable connection before installation.

  • Disconnected-device handling: Queue updates and install when the device reconnects and is ready.

  • Deployment reporting: Display current firmware, target version, pending installations, successful updates, and failures, with retry options.

The desired outcome is a reliable, centrally managed firmware deployment process that does not depend on each employee taking action.
