Feature Request: Official Logi Options+ Support for Linux
I would really love to see official Logi Options+ support for Linux.
I currently use an MX Vertical, MX Mechanical, and BRIO 100 webcam. The experience is excellent on the Windows computer I use for work, but my personal computers run Linux.
The good news is that all of these devices already work exceptionally well on Linux, which says a lot about the quality of Logitech hardware. What is missing is a centralized application to actually manage the Logitech ecosystem.
The features I miss the most are:
Customizing buttons on my MX Vertical
Customizing function-key actions on my MX Mechanical
Adjusting image settings on my BRIO webcam
Using Logitech Flow between computers
I understand that a Linux version of Options+ would not necessarily need feature parity with Windows and macOS.
Flow, for example, may be more difficult to implement because of the variety of Linux distributions, desktop environments, Wayland/X11 configurations, etc. But even a simpler version of Options+ providing the basics, mouse button customization, keyboard customization, and webcam settings, would already make a huge difference.
I've been using Logitech products for around seven years. In fact, I spent basically my entire first salary on my MX Vertical. 😅
Seven years later, I'm still using that exact same mouse. No regrets. The build quality has been fantastic, and experiences like this are exactly why I've continued buying Logitech products.
I don't expect Logitech to support every distro or every possible Linux configuration. Supporting a few major distributions, or even providing an officially supported package such as Flatpak/AppImage, would already be a huge step forward.
There are increasingly more Linux users using premium Logitech hardware, and it would be great if the software experience could catch up with how well the hardware already works.
Thank you for continuing to build such high-quality products. I genuinely enjoy using Logitech devices, and official Linux support for Logi Options+ would make the experience even better.
