Testing Transparency and Update Frequency for COS & Teams App
With the COS 1.15 upgrade, Logitech devices can now be updated through the Microsoft TAC portal, which is a great step forward. The Teams app bundled with COS is tested and verified by both Logitech and Microsoft, providing confidence in stability and compatibility.
However, starting with COS 1.15, Microsoft is releasing Teams app updates and other patches more frequently, while COS file releases (certified by both vendors) remain less frequent. This creates a gap where customers may miss important Teams fixes and enhancements if they rely solely on COS bundles.
Ideally, Logitech could release COS bundles at the same pace as Microsoft Teams app updates after testing each version.
If thatās not feasible, it would be extremely helpful for customers to receive testing results or compatibility reports for new Teams app versions released by Microsoft. This way, we can make informed decisionsāeither proceed with TAC updates or hold off until a compatible COS version is available.
This transparency will help customers maintain confidence in updates and avoid potential issues with Teams software running on specific COS versions.
