CollabOS 1.11: A Deeper Dive Into How Rally Bar Huddle, Sight, and Sync Got Better

With the release of CollabOS 1.11 we brought so many features and updates that we had to split our coverage into two articles. Be sure to read our first blog alongside this one for a comprehensive overview of this release. In this blog, we’ll delve deeper into how CollabOS 1.11 has enhanced our already exceptional line of products. Software is our secret sauce, it’s the key to how to continually improve the experience for your administrators and your users. Let’s dive in more.

Controllers, Grid View, and Security with Rally Bar Huddle

Our recently launched Rally Bar Huddle offers a versatile and high-quality experience for both users and administrators in small and huddle rooms. CollabOS 1.11 enhances its flexibility and user experience with additional features.

Rally Bar Huddle is now compatible with both of Logitech's meeting controllers, Tap and Tap IP offering two options both enabling the one-touch user experience that customers love about our meeting controllers. Previously, we supported Tap IP for networked deployments. Our introduction of Tap with Rally Bar Huddle gives an additional option to customers looking for a tethered option which doesn’t require network connectivity.

Speaking of user experience, we've introduced Grid View for Rally Bar Huddle in appliance mode. Logitech Grid View allows up to four individual gallery tiles for participants in the same room. Users can easily enable this feature by selecting the "multi-stream" option in an appliance-based Zoom Room or the "composite" view option in a Native Microsoft Teams room on Android.

Finally, let’s talk about network security. Rally Bar Huddle can now connect to wired secure enterprise 802.1X networks that use specialized authentication and certificates. This eliminates the reliance on a single network password and allows unique credentials or certificates to be used per device.

Camera Image Quality: Innovation on the Edge

We've also dedicated attention to enhancing images and framing in CollabOS 1.11 with Rally Bar Huddle, Rally Bar Mini, and Sight.

For Rally Bar Huddle, we've refined how individuals appear at the edge of the image captured by our wide-angle lenses, adjusting proportions and reducing distortion to make participants on the edges look even better. With Logitech Sight, we've made similar adjustments to images of individuals at the edge of the frame, and we’ve also fine-tuned its speaker framing to better identify users with obscured faces due to laptops or even their own hand.

Even More Platform Choices: Welcoming Google Meet on Android to the Family

We're thrilled to introduce the availability of Google Meet on Android. This exciting development enables you to utilize the integrated compute within the Rally Bar or Rally Bar Mini, eliminating the need for a separate Meet compute. This helps to simplify cabling, setup, and reduce the number of devices requiring monitoring in each room.

With Google Meet on Android, you'll also benefit from CollabOS updates delivered directly from Logitech. This ensures that you receive these updates promptly as soon as they become available, keeping your system up-to-date and optimized. Read more about this exciting launch in our companion article.

More Tools in Your Remote Management Toolbox

Sync continues to evolve, offering even more functionality. First, we improved the onboarding process. With CollabOS 1.11, devices now provision to Sync from the outset. This empowers IT teams to define the desired software version for devices during the onboarding phase, providing administrators with enhanced control.

Additionally, for teams that frequently rely on LNA (Local Network Access) to access device information and make necessary adjustments to device settings, Sync now empowers administrators to modify LNA access passwords across their entire fleet of devices. This feature is particularly valuable for teams adhering to security protocols that mandate regular password changes for LNA access.

Finally, we also introduced Camera Zone in Sync, allowing administrators to remotely make adjustments to the framing zone of their cameras. Be sure to check out our first blog to learn more about this feature.

Our commitment to delivering substantial updates continues with CollabOS 1.11. Our releases bring both new features and a host of improvements that make our devices the best in the industry. Stay up to date with cutting-edge features and improvements by exploring the CollabOS release notes.
