Google Meet Adds Self-Service to Hardware Licensing Options

Historically, Google Meet rooms users were required to purchase their Google Meet hardware licenses at the same time as their Logitech room solutions for Google Meet. This was fulfilled by a Google Meet hardware authorized reseller.

With recent changes, this requirement is lifted in certain regions. End users are able to purchase their Logitech room solutions for Google Meet from any Logitech reseller and obtain up to 10 room licenses directly from the Google Admin console.

Licensing Changes

Logitech room solutions for Google Meet require a Google Meet hardware license, which is separate from a Google Workspace license. This hardware license is now available in Google Admin, the same location where Google Workspace licenses are purchased.

The traditional licensing path of working with a Google Meet hardware authorized reseller is still available and should be followed for deployments of 11 or more rooms. Google has integrated Meet hardware licensing into the Partner Sales Console for better accuracy and reporting, in addition to the ability to set up auto-renew on license subscriptions.

Usage

IT Administrators can log into Google Admin and find Google Meet hardware under Devices & Browser in the Billing > Get more services menu.

From this point, a streamlined process can be followed to purchase up to 10 Google Meet hardware licenses.
