CollabOS 1.12: RightSound 2, More Individual Frames, and Remote UI Access
CollabOS 1.12 is a significant leap forward in both device functionality and remote management capabilities. Now, administrators have a fast, simple, and secure way of accessing and interacting with all networked-connected-CollabOS devices remotely. We’ve also completely rewritten our sound algorithms, dramatically improving voice clarity and continuing our industry leadership in sound quality during virtual meetings. Additionally, we’ve enhanced our RightSight 2 Grid View to improve representation and framing. Let’s dive into the release to see how these features are changing the game in video collaboration.
RightSound 2
To start, we all know how important audio clarity is during a meeting. How people are heard during meetings is one of the most important aspects of a productive and engaging video call.
With that understanding, Logitech developed RightSound–a suite of algorithms designed to suppress distracting noises, equalize voice volumes, eliminate echoes, and ensure that every voice is heard clearly. Distracting noises can include keyboard clicks, mouse clicks, fan sounds, and even more variable noises like the rustling of chip bags or clapping. Additionally, larger rooms also present acoustic challenges with the amount of reverberation and latent echo bouncing off walls and hard surfaces.
With RightSound 2, we’ve completely overhauled our audio algorithms from the ground up to enhance audio clarity even in more difficult rooms. But sometimes you have to see it to believe it, or in this case, hear it to believe, so we invite you to listen to the difference between RightSound and RightSound 2 in the video below.
Remote UI Access Through Logitech Sync
IT administrators love Logitech Sync for its comprehensive monitoring, management tools, and insights into workspace and device usage. The introduction of Remote UI Access through Sync provides a critical tool for administrators to get hands-on with devices, without having to put their hands on the device.
Available for CollabOS devices in network-connected setups, Remote UI Access allows administrators to interact with devices like our Rally Bar line, Tap, Tap IP, Tap Scheduler, Logi Dock Flex, and RoomMate. This capability not only lets administrators view what’s on screen but also interact with devices directly from their browser.
Equally significant is the ease and simplicity of accessing devices. Remote UI sessions can be started with just a few mouse clicks and very little configuration. Additionally, connectivity is done through local network access - this means your company’s video data never leaves your network, adding a layer of security while maintaining simplicity and ease of use.
Sync Remote UI Access is included in Logitech Select service license, to learn more about Select click here. Non-Select subscribers can try Remote UI Access as part of the free 30-day trial of Remote UI Access for feature validation and to help device setup.
More Representation with Grid View Sub-Tilling
We’ve also extended our RightSight 2 technology. RightSight 2 Grid View allows our Rally Bar line of products to separate individuals in the same room into individual gallery images, enhancing meeting equity by better representing participants.
With the addition of Sub-Tiling for appliance-based deployments, we’re further dividing each gallery image to present even more participants while minimizing distractions like hands and arms appearing across separate frames.
To explain how this looks visually, it’s easiest to start with a device that most are familiar with, Logitech Sight. When displaying multiple individuals, Sight can split a single gallery image into up to four smaller subframes. For setups using only a Rally Bar or Rally Bar Mini, Sub-Tiling will bring that Sight-like people-framing experience to Rally Bars.
Sub-Tiling is in beta and available for appliance-based deployments with this release.
We're excited for you to experience the new features in CollabOS 1.12. This release is more than just an update—it’s a significant leap in how administrators manage, and how employees collaborate. We’ve set the bar in video collaboration to a new level and we invite you to experience the features for yourself.
