Presenting Dynamic Tiles, Layouts, and Companion Mode: New, Innovative Features for Google Meet Rooms
Google Meet Rooms are getting new features designed to improve equity and collaboration during meetings. Dynamic Tiles, Dynamic Layouts, and Companion Mode Face Match enhance meetings for both in-room and remote participants. Let’s explore how these updates make meetings more seamless and productive.
Elevating Meetings with Dynamic Layouts and Dynamic Tiles
Available now on Google Meet Rooms deployed on ChromeOS, Dynamic Layouts improve the meeting experience by offering proportional representation for both in-room and remote participants. For remote attendees, the conference room tile appears larger, making it easier to see and identify individuals within the room. Then, with Dynamic Tiles, in-room participants are represented individually. As attendees join the meeting, Google Meet automatically creates separate video tiles for up to three individuals in the room. This added visibility ensures that in-room participants are just as easy to spot as remote users, fostering a more inclusive and balanced meeting environment.
Together, Dynamic Layouts and Dynamic Tiles make collaboration simpler and more equitable. These features improve visibility, representation, and overall meeting productivity for hybrid teams.
Personalization with Companion Mode
Companion Mode Face Match builds on the functionality of Dynamic Tiles by enhancing individual representation. It allows employees using personal devices to join Google Meet Rooms to personalize and identify themselves during meetings.
By activating Companion Mode on their laptop or mobile device, participants can link their name to the conference room tile, ensuring their name appears within the shared room view. This provides clarity for remote participants, who can easily identify in-room attendees.
The result is a clear and personal collaborative experience, allowing participants to be seen and properly identified.
Dynamic Tiles, Dynamic Layouts, and Companion Mode Face Match are now available for Google Meet Rooms deployed on ChromeOS. These features will transform the way you experience meetings, enabling greater equity, productivity, and seamless collaboration.
