Logi Options+ Offline Manual

The Logitech Options+ offline installer enables users as well as ITDMs to install the software to computers that do not have access to the internet (or are on an air gapped network).  It shares all the same features as the retail online Options+ version.

1. Why choose the offline over the online version of Options+?

  • Air Gapped Network:  For machines which are offline and have no direct access to the internet.  The offline version of Options+ can be installed on those machines without needing to download additional content.

  • Security: The offline version of Options+ cannot send or receive data such as analytics or firmware status for example. The same goes for receiving data from servers to the offline version of Options+ within the network.

1.1 Mass and Silent installation Notes:

  • The installer file is around 750 MB in size for Windows .exe and 800MB for MacOS .pkg file

  • The Options+ offline installer can be used with the script DFU tool

  • The Options+ offline installer can be used with mass deployment (including silent install)

  • The existing Options+ offline app can be left installed if the user/ITDM wants to install a newer version of the Options+ offline installer; just run the installer on the same computer and it will carry out an upgrade. This so the end user will not lose their settings or paired devices

  • The Options+ offline installer will have the same security structure as the online version

  • The user will need administrator access to install the offline version, the same as the online version of Options+ installer.

2. Download Options+ Offline

To download the offline version of Options+ please select the version that matches your Operating System:

4.2 Installing silently on a single PC (Windows)

Please use the arguments set out below.

  1. Run command prompt as an administrator.

    1. To do this type “Command Prompt” in the Windows search field at the lower left corner.

    2. Right click on “Command Prompt” and click on “Run as administrator

  1. With the command prompt open type C:\Users\%username%\Downloads\logioptionsplus_installer_offline.exe /quiet

    1. Note: This step assumes the downloaded file is in your Downloads folder.  Change the file path if your file is located elsewhere.

    2. To add extra parameters follow the table above.  For example, to install Options+ Offline with Flow and Single Sign On (SSO) type this command: C:\Users\%username%\Downloads\logioptionsplus_installer.exe /quiet /flow yes /sso yes

  1. Press ‘Enter’ to run the command.  The software will then install silently.  The only way to observe the software is installing is to look at your task manager.  Please note that this can take up to 2 minutes to complete.

  2. Optional Step: Observe the software being installed through the task manager

    1. Because the software is being installed in quiet mode, there is no information about the installation progress.  If you want to have any visual information of the software being installed, you can open task manager:  Right click on the Windows logo at the lower left corner and click “Task Manager”

    2. Then click on “More details”.

    3. Then go to the “Details” tab.

    4. Scroll down and you should see these 2 tasks running:

      1. -logioptionsplus_installer_offline.exe

      2. -logioptionsplus_setup.exe

      3. When these 2 processes disappear, it means the Options+ Offline has been installed.

    5. Then the Options+ processes will show up.  Which means Options+ is up and running.

5 FAQs:

Q: Does the offline version have the same features as the online version?

A: The offline version has most of the features and functionality as the offline installer apart from features that need Logit account access. These features listed below are currently not available with the offline version:

  1. Logi Account access

Note: Flow is disabled by default but can be enabled via an argument during a silent install.

Q: How will the upgrade work from the older version of the offline installer to the latest version?

A: There is an upgrade feature as part of the offline installer.
