Google, Microsoft & Zoom PC-Based Room Update Guides

The following article will help you successfully set up your Logitech Room Solution and ensure it’s kept up to date to provide the best experience for users. Specific guidance is provided for Logitech bundled MTR, Zoom, and Google room solution kits. Guidance for other Logitech bundled room solutions can be found at the end of this article under Other Resources.

NOTE: This article covers PC-Based rooms only.


 

Microsoft Teams Room

Prerequisites

  • Logitech Microsoft PC Bundle (NUC or Lenovo Core)

    • Windows 11 recommended

First Time Use

  • Make sure you’ve set up the room in a supported configuration (see Wiring Diagram)

  • After you complete the Out of Box Experience (setting up keyboard and language), the computer will reboot. The Teams console will show and the compute will reboot a second time. Do not log in to the desktop until that second reboot has been completed.

  • Before using your equipment for the first time, make sure your Windows system is up to date. The minimum version required is Windows 11. Reference this Microsoft guide for assistance: Microsoft Support for Updating Windows.

  • You can optionally update your Teams room quickly by following the instructions here.

    1. Connect a keyboard and mouse.

    2. When the room system starts, press the start key 5 times quickly to bring up the login in window

    3. Login with admin, DO NOT logout the Skype user account

    4. Download the offline updater from the link above

    5. Right click on the downloaded file, go to properties and choose to unblock the file

    6. Open a command prompt (Not PowerShell, Not Console) in with elevated permissions (admin mode)

    7. Type the following: PowerShell.exe -executionpolicy unrestricted -file <Path To the ps1 script you just downloaded>.

    8. Reboot the System.

  • Once you have applied the latest Teams room version, you can then apply BIOS updates, and run Windows Update Manually.

  • Ensure your Logitech hardware is update

    • Downloads for Logitech video conferencing equipment can be found on the Sync Product Hub. Check the product space for your devices for the latest downloads.

Maintenance

  • The following should always be kept up to date, whether during general use, or after long periods of inactivity:

    • Logitech HW

  • Windows Update and Teams Rooms

    • Everynight at 2:00 AM a process starts that puts the Windows PC into a state allowing for any available WIndows Update to be applied.

    • These updates can include Windows version, Security fixes, Driver Updates and Logitech firmware updates.

    • Based on the number of updates, size and complexity, on average your system will reboot around 2:30 AM every night.


 

Zoom

Prerequisites

  • Logitech Zoom PC Bundle (NUC or Lenovo Core)

  • Windows 10 supported (Nuc). A Logitech NUC will never upgrade the Windows version.  This is due to the requirement of using Microsoft's Long Term Serviceability Branch on Windows.  This ensures stability and long term support.

    • Windows 11 recommended (Lenovo)

    • macOS 10.14 or higher

  • 2.0 Mbps up and down for single screen

    • 2.0 Mbps up 4.0 Mbps down for dual screen

    • 2.0 Mbps up 6.0 Mbps down for triple screen

  • Additional ZOOM Resources

First Time Use

  • Make sure you’ve set up the room in a supported configuration (see Wiring Diagram)

  • Ensure your Logitech hardware is updated

  • Most Logitech VC products are updated via Logitech Sync

Maintenance

  • The following should always be kept up to date, whether during general use, or after long periods of inactivity:

    • Logitech HW

  • Updates to Windows, including versions, drivers, firmware are all managed through the Zoom Device Management Portal. Zoom Room on Windows will not receive updates from Windows Update Directly. 


 

Google

Prerequisites

  • Google Meet supported hardware

  • Logitech Conference Room Camera/System included in your Room solutions bundle

  • Google account with Google Meet provisioning privileges

  • Meet turned on by Google Workspace admin

  • Additional Google Resources

First Time Use

  • Make sure you’ve set up the room in a supported configuration (see Wiring Diagram)

  • Ensure your Logitech hardware is updated

  • Logitech device firmware is kept up to date by Google Chrome OS. Updates are packaged into Chrome OS and automatically deployed to the connected Logitech devices on a regular basis. Consult this page for information on what firmware updates are provided by corresponding versions of ChromeOS.

Maintenance

  • Google Meet hardware receives automatic updates that improve functionality of the hardware and software on the device.

  • Google Meet license changes

  • “Send Feedback” button on the Meet touchscreen interface shares diagnostic information directly with Google, for follow up with troubleshooting and support cases. Contact Meet hardware support
