Basic BYOD

  1. Connect MeetUp 2 following one of the two BYOD configuration options in the Dedicated Computer Setup section of the MeetUp 2 Wiring Diagram Guide according to your setup. The network connection is unnecessary in this configuration (but recommended). 

  2. You’re now ready to experience video conferencing using the conferencing application on the laptop.

While this is the quickest setup option for BYOD, we recommend using the enhanced BYOD option below as this allows MeetUp 2 to be managed and updated more efficiently via Logitech Sync Portal.

Enhanced BYOD with Wired Network Connection

This option uses LNA to connect MeetUp 2 to a wired network, thereby allowing it to be managed using Logitech Sync or with supported video conferencing management applications.

  1. Connect MeetUp 2 following one of the BYOD options in the Dedicated Computer Setup section of the MeetUp 2 Wiring Diagram Guide referenced above.

  2. Enable LNA by pressing the Reset button for 5 seconds.  More details on LNA can be found here.

  3. After LNA is enabled, a URL and IP address will be displayed on the meeting room screen.

  4. In a browser on a computer connected to MeetUp 2, enter the URL displayed

    1. The default username is admin and the default password will be displayed on the meeting room display

  5. You will then need to create a new password. 

  6. After creating the password, you will be directed to the login page; enter the user name and new password.

  7. Follow the steps on the laptop display to finish setup.

  8. When you reach this step select “BYOD Mode”

  9. You’re now ready to experience video conferencing using the conferencing application on the laptop.

Enhanced BYOD with Wireless Network Connection

This option uses LNA to connect MeetUp 2 to a wireless network, allowing it to be managed using Logitech Sync or with supported video conferencing management applications.

The Sync Installer app is used to connect MeetUp 2 to a wireless network.

  1. Install Sync Installer app from iTunes store Google Play Store and open the app

    1. Download the app

  1. Using the app

    1. To use the app, first power on your MeetUp 2 to see the initial OOBE screens.

  1. The app will only connect to devices not configured with a network connection. 

  1. You cannot connect MeetUp 2 to WiFi and ethernet at the same time. 

  1. If WiFi has already been set up you will need to factory reset the device.

  1. Press and hold the “ᛒ” on the back of MeetUp 2. This will allow the app to discover it.

  2. Open the app and select “Install device” then select your MeetUp 2 from the list. This will then connect the app to your MeetUp 2.

  3. Once connected to the device you will be prompted to choose a WiFi network to connect to your MeetUp 2.  

You can connect to a visible or hidden network using the options in the app. 

Note, the app will show WiFi networks that MeetUp 2 is able to see. 

  1. Once you have connected MeetUp 2 to WiFi you will have the option to enabled LNA. 

LNA is required to continue setting up the device. 

Enable LNA by pressing the Reset button for 5 seconds.  More details on LNA can be found here.

  1. After enabling LNA you will have an option to save the WiFi credentials and LNA enablement as a profile to apply to other MeetUp 2’s for faster installation.

  2. You will now be presented with a screen showing the LNA credentials for the device. 

This can be shared with team members to complete the LNA process remotely. 

Note, the username and password are fields can be copied and the IP address is clickable from this page.

  1. Once you have a profile saved you can use this the next time you connect a MeetUp 2 to WiFi using the app.

This makes deploying multiple devices quick and easy 

You can also edit profile names easily within the app.

  1. Connect MeetUp 2 following the “Dedicated computer setup” diagram below.

  2. Install Sync App on the meeting room computer.  MeetUp 2 requires Sync App 3.4 or later.
